The Campaign Against Genocide Museum is located in the Parliamentary building in Kigali, just 800 meters behind the conventional center road point, and only 4.9km, a 9-minute drive from Kanombe Airport. The museum was officially opened on December 13, 2017, by H.E Paul Kagame.

These preparations were made for the establishment of the Broad-Based Transitional Government and the National Transitional Assembly, and it was these 600-man protection force (3BN) that received the first order from RPA Chairman of High Command Major General Paul Kagame on 07/04/1994 to break out from their positions, defend themselves, and rescue the victims of the Genocide in their surroundings when the campaign against Genocide began.
The CAG Museum illustrates in detail how the Campaign Against Genocide Plan was carried out by RPF/A after the UN troops withdrew, leaving the targeted Tutsi at the mercy of the Genocidaires. It shows how only the RPF/A forces, fighting for liberation, unilaterally decided to end the Genocide, rescue the victims, and defeat the Genocidal forces. The museum's exterior features monuments, including the 12.7mm Machine Gun that played a crucial role in holding back the advancing genocidal forces.
